The Department of Accounting was established in 1962, as part of the Faculty of and Social Studies, in the first phase of the development of the University of produced its first set of Bachelors degree in accounting graduates in 196 Department, as a part of the renamed Faculty of Business Administration (October has over the years developed a reputation for learning excellence, consistently producing excellent accounting graduates who are making notable contributions in both and private sectors of the Nigerian economy. It has consequently become one most sought after Departments by candidates seeking University admission in Nigeria
