Personal Statement
I am an early career researcher with a passion for advancing sustainable solutions in financial reporting, auditing and taxation. Against the backdrop of many reported cases of corporate misdemeanors and the need for companies to be sustainability conscious and responsive, my research focuses on the value accounting numbers, as reported in the corporate annual report, have for the investors, restoration of the lost investors’ confidence through sustainability reporting, role of audit quality in enhancing financial reporting quality and the role of technology in achieving these objectives. I have an appreciable number of publications (National and Foreign) including book chapters in this regard.
A native of Kwara State, Dr. Ajape is a fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and recently, a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. With about 14 years of lecturing, I have wide academic and administrative experience as a course adviser, examination officer, an E-learning officer, and currently, a quality control officer, Department of Accounting, and a staff adviser to the UNILAG chapter of NUASA. I am actively serving on committees in the Department of Accounting and the Faculty of Management Sciences. I have been reviewing articles for both local and international journals.
