Personal Statement

Professor Christopher Chidi is currently the Head of Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the University of Lagos. Prof. Christopher possesses considerable experience in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management in both the private and public sectors. He is currently a member of the University of Lagos Senate. He was the Postgraduate Programme Coordinator of the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management from August, 2017 to July, 2021.  He was appointed Assistant Coordinator, Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme of the University of Lagos from the 1st of August, 2015 to the 31st of July, 2017.

Outside the University of Lagos, Prof. Christopher has rendered several consultancy services for numerous organisations. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN); and a member of the Nigerian Industrial and Employment Relations Association. He has contributed to the CIPMN and participated in the conduct of professional examinations of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria which are held bi-annually (February and August Diets) for over 10 years. Prof. Christopher was a member of the research team that compiled the CIPMN history and strategic book to mark the CIPMN 50 years of excellence from 1968-2018. He is widely published in reputable national and international journals and has attended numerous learned conferences locally and overseas.
