Employment Research

  Personal Statement

I am an experienced academic and Human Resource Management professional with over 2 decades of expertise. While I teach a broad range of HRM modules, my current research primarily explores work-life balance, flexible working practices, gender-related issues, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion. In my teaching, I incorporate case studies, experiential learning methods, and critical thinking techniques to foster active engagement and real-world application of theoretical concepts. I also work closely with industry professionals and academic peers (across and beyond my discipline) to enhance the quality and impact of my teaching and research.

My academic journey took shape during my PhD programme at the University of Warwick, UK, where I investigated the work-life balance experiences of women in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector. This foundational study deeply informed my research trajectory. At present, I am focusing on gender equality and sustainability, especially in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular interest in situating these issues within the Nigerian context.
