A Personal Statement
Dr. Samson Ogege is a distinguished academic and finance expert based in Nigeria. He serves as a senior lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he also holds the position of Sub-Dean in the Faculty of Management Sciences.
Dr. Ogege’s scholarly interests encompass corporate finance, financial intermediation, banking, and financial analysis. He has authored over 42 research publications, which have collectively garnered more than 500 citations and over 51,000 reads on ResearchGate. His notable works include studies on dividend policies, fintech’s role in poverty reduction, and the impact of fiscal policy on foreign direct investment in Nigeria.
In addition to his academic publications, Dr. Ogege has authored textbooks aimed at enhancing the understanding of Nigeria’s financial systems. His 2021 textbook, Financial Institutions and Markets: Operations and Management, offers an in-depth exploration of Nigeria’s financial service industry. Another significant contribution is his book Comparative Banking and Financial System, published by the University of Lagos Press, which examines banking systems across various economic contexts.
