PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am an early-career researcher and faculty member in Actuarial Science. My research focuses on mortality analysis and modeling, particularly in the context of pension and annuity businesses. My ongoing doctoral research explores the development of hybrid approaches to mortality projection, combining deterministic, stochastic, and Artificial intelligence methods in improving accuracy in long-term financial planning and risk management. As a faculty member, I am passionate about helping students build strong analytical foundations and apply quantitative techniques to real-world challenges in the Actuarial profession, finance, and insurance. Beyond teaching and research, I am committed to student mentorship and academic development within the department. I aim to bridge the gap in academic theory and industry practice, supporting better decision-making in Nigeria’s evolving financial landscape.
