Personal Statement

I have always been “special”. I was born in Nigeria, but translocated to Rome, Italy at an early age. I am proficient in Italian, English and my native Yoruba Language. I can get-by with French, a secondary European language from my West African roots.  My work focuses on applying operations research or decision science techniques to solving marketing and business problems especially with regards to the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process model. In three decades, I can proudly claim supervising over fourteen doctoral theses and over three hundred masters’ candidates. I have won several academic as well as non-academic awards and I am a member of many professional bodies. I have also continued to participate actively in civil and community activities locally and internationally and I am an advocate for the marginalized. I am passionate about integrating services, particularly in resource-limited environments. I have conducted research and published in various aspects of Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Decision Sciences/Operations Research, Sports Marketing and Prefabricated Methodologies, amongst others. My ultimate goal is to develop the field of Marketing and Decision Sciences fully in Nigeria by promoting research geared towards the application of decision sciences models in solving real life marketing and business problems.
