            Personal Statement

I am a Senior Lecturer in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. I specialise in employment relations, human resource management, and design thinking, with a particular emphasis on employment within the informal economy, entrepreneurship, labour economics, and development studies aimed at achieving sustainable livelihoods for working individuals. My work critically examines the interactions among employment relations actors, including workers, employers, and the government policies that influence labour market outcomes. I am dedicated to exploring the access of working individuals to resources, opportunities, and capabilities that enable them to maintain a stable and dignified life over time. My focus includes economic viability, environmental sustainability, social equity, resilience, and the development of human capabilities, thereby contributing to the enhancement of human well-being, the reduction of poverty, and the promotion of sustainable development. I have also developed competencies in research management, overseeing research support services and promoting researcher development and career support.
